This was kind of a blah month.  Well that is only partially true since some of my favorite authors released books this month but in general I am having problems finding really interesting random books so I stuck with a few series as you will see below.  That and I started a new full time job so I am not reading as much as I used to.

The Inner Circle by Brad Meltzner – (Mystery) This book really is like National Treasure. Finding clues in the National Archives, conspiracy theories etc…Fast read but reading it right after the last one made it feel pretty formula.  Need to take these books in doses.

The 12th of Never by James Patterson – (Mystery – Women’s Murder Club) YAY!  This book had lots of twists and turns and not all of them good.  I think that is what I like about this series.  The good guys always win BUT not without a lot of pain a long the way…and not everyone ends up happily ever after.  It will be interesting to see where this series heads next.

Dirt and Dead in the Water by Stuart Woods – (Mystery) I decided to dive into this series.  Stone Barrington, ex NYPD now a practicing lawyer is always finding himself in trouble.  These books are fast reads, Stone is great character, not a super bad ass but pretty bad ass.  He always has a few women friends he entertains so there is a little bit of everything in these books.

Dead Ever After by Charlaine Harris – (Paranormal) Last book of the Sookie series 😦  In general I think she did a really great job of ending it.  There is closure and a little bit of happily ever after for Sookie who deserves it after all the trouble she has been through. I am listening to the audio books of this series now and its fun to start at the beginning knowing what happens at the end!

Scanguards Vampire Series by Tina Folsom – (Paranormal Romance) So far there are seven in this series and its not unlike most “family” vampire series where one after another everyone gets a mate.  The series starts off super sexy but kind of settles down some along the way.  Each book is really different from each other and there are always new bad guys so it doesn’t get too formula.  I LOVED the Zane book which the author dedicated to her family that passed in concentration camps.  If you love vampire books this is a great series!

The Sweetness at the Bottom of the Pie by Alan Bradley – (English Mystery)  I don’t want to call this a YA book but it could be.  The main character is a 13yr old who is trying to solve a mystery to clear her dad.  Its based in England in the 50s so its not a super fast read but its interesting.

Bossypants by Tina Fey – (NonFiction – Audio)  Loved this book!  I am not really a Tina Fey fan, I don’t watch SNL or 30 Rock or whatever its called but I enjoyed her stories and her advice for women.  She is a pretty amazing woman and I think she has a lot to say to young women and its fun!  Definitely worth reading and even more fun listening!
