It was a pretty random month as far as reading but I enjoyed finding new authors and reading more from few of my favorites. If you are wondering where I am finding some of these random books check out BookBub, its a great service that sends me an email everyday with free or cheap books (for Kindle or Nook).

Then Invention of Wings was this month’s book club book at work.  Since I had already read it I listened to it audibly and fell in love with it over again! The narrators were fantastic.

5 favorite books

  1. NYPD Red 3 by James Patterson
  2. 14th Deadly Sin by James Patterson
  3. The Shadows by JR Ward
  4. Divorced, Desperate and Delicious by Christie Craig
  5. A Good Man Gone by AW Hartoin

Divorced, Desperate and Delicious by Christie Craig – (Chic Lit) This book was LOL funny. If you like books that have a little mystery, funny characters and hot men then you will love this book.  Perfect beach read!

A Good Man Gone by AW Hartoin – (Chic Lit) Another fun romantic comedy with a mystery to be solved. It reminded me of the Spellman Files, with vainy fun characters. Fast fun read.

A Spool of Blue Thread by Anne Tyler – (Fiction) Everyone thinks they are from a dysfunctional family…including myself.  So when does dysfunction become normal? This book examines an interesting/dysfunctional family from several points of view and takes you on a ride of emotions.

Another Shot at Love by Niecey Roy – (Chic Lit) Another fun beach read, it’s predictable but fun!

Sins and Scandals Series by Kelly Boyce – (Historical Romance) I’m new to historical romances but I am finding them really interesting. They are fun and romantic but I enjoy learning about the past and how women were treated.  I especially like reading about women who overcame their situation and who found partners vs keepers.  This is a great series!

14th Deadly Sin by James Patterson – (Mystery) The Women’s Murder club, based in San Francisco never lets me down! The women are growing and changing but they stay together to take down the bad guys.

NYPD Red 3 by James Patterson  – (Mystery) WOW! This book started out intense and didn’t slow down! One of Patterson’s best series!

Pretty Lives Ugly Truths by K. Elle Collier – (Fiction) Another book about a dysfunctional family and their crazy life.  It was just ok and a little too stereotypical for my taste.

Pacific Vortex! by Clive Clussler – (Mystery) My introduction to the famous Dirk Pitt.  This book combines mystery, suspense, myths and romance into one big thrill ride.  I’m looking forward to the rest of the series.

The Shadows by JR Ward – (Paranormal) I can’t get enough of this series and I was thrilled that the brothers were finally going to find their mates!  This book was engrossing and went in directions I didn’t expect. I love that JR Ward isn’t conventional and has something for everyone!
